If you have spent a night in Jeddah before Umrah, this is the leg that starts the pilgrimage properly. Pickup is from your Jeddah hotel and drop-off at your Makkah hotel, with a Miqat stop if you are entering Ihram on the way.

The two variables are getting out of Jeddah and getting into Makkah. Evening departures from the Corniche add time at the city end, and the checkpoint plus Central Haram traffic control adds time at the Makkah end, particularly before Maghrib.

Many pilgrims want to go straight to Tawaf. The driver can drop you as close to the Haram as traffic control allows, but luggage still has to reach your hotel, so hotel first is generally the practical order.
Shared taxis and intercity buses run this corridor cheaply, but they leave from fixed points on their own schedule, not from your hotel lobby, and they will not wait while you change into Ihram.
A private car matters most when you are in Ihram, carrying cases, travelling with family, or leaving at an hour that suits your Umrah plan rather than a timetable.
