Makkah to Madinah via Badr Ziyarat Taxi

Around 6.5 to 7.5 hours including the Badr visit

Badr sits close to the road between the two Holy Cities, so visiting it on the way north costs a couple of extra hours instead of a separate day trip. This is the standard Makkah to Madinah transfer with a proper stop at the battlefield built in.

How the day runs

Around four hours of driving to reach the Badr turn-off area, an hour to an hour and a half at the site, then roughly two hours on to Madinah — six and a half to seven and a half hours in total including a rest stop.

Leaving Makkah early is strongly advised. A post-Fajr departure gets you to Badr before the midday heat and into Madinah in good time for Maghrib.

At Badr

The valley where the battle was fought in the second year after the Hijrah is still readable: the hills the Muslim army held, the plain where the Quraysh camped, and the wells. The cemetery of the fourteen martyrs is enclosed and visited from outside.

Du'a is made for the martyrs as for any Muslim who has passed; the graves are not touched or circled. There is little shade, so water and sun protection matter.

Practical planning

Luggage stays in the vehicle throughout — one load in Makkah, one unload in Madinah. That is the main advantage over doing Badr as a return trip from Madinah on another day.

Tell us if you want longer at the site than the standard stop; we would rather quote the extra time than have the driver hurrying you.

Who this suits

Pilgrims with a fixed itinerary who would otherwise miss Badr, and families who prefer one long day to two separate outings. It is a long day with a young family, so a seven-seater or larger vehicle is worth the extra space.

If your schedule is relaxed and you are staying several days in Madinah, the shorter Badr return trip from there is easier on everyone.

Makkah Hotel to Madinah Hotel (via Badar Ziyarat) Taxi — Questions Pilgrims Ask

How much longer does the Badr stop add?

Roughly two to two and a half hours compared with the direct Makkah to Madinah transfer, giving a total of six and a half to seven and a half hours.

Is Ihram involved?

No. Travelling towards Madinah requires no Ihram; the Miqat matters when you travel towards Makkah for Umrah.

Does the luggage stay in the car at Badr?

Yes. The driver stays with the vehicle while you visit the site.

Can we spend longer at Badr?

Yes, tell us when booking and we will quote the extended trip rather than rush the visit.

Would a separate Badr trip from Madinah be better?

If you have spare days in Madinah, yes — it is a shorter five-hour outing without luggage. Combining suits tighter itineraries.
